Epicado and www.grandprixdiary.com launch live F1 Twitter quiz

Our Phil is a bit of a p’head - that’s ‘p’ as in petrol not pxxx, though on second thoughts…

Phil and his mate Rob run the Formula One fun site - www.grandprixdiary.com and tonight they’re hosting the first live quiz to be posted via Twitter. They challenged this season’s three new F1 teams to pit their knowledge against leading F1 personalities including Sir Stirling Moss and readers of their website.

“The original idea was to see which of the ‘new boys’ really knew their stuff and to run the quiz informally on Twitter. However, it soon became clear that, as competitive types, it wasn’t going to be possible to ensure that rival teams weren’t tempted to cut corners and check Google for the right answers” said Rob.

To avoid any rule bending, the three teams from Virgin, Lotus and HRT will meet at the former’s motor-home at the Singapore Grand Prix tonight at 19.00 GMT. Under strict conditions and without laptops or mobiles, each team will be given 20ish questions. It may be their last chance for glory as each team is level bottom of the F1 table with zero points – clearly, team pride will be at stake.

Each question will be posted live on Twitter so that fans can take part too. The questions will be posed by F1 luminaries such as:

·         Stefan Johannson

·         Jos Verstappen

·         Michael Andretti

·         Sir Stirling Moss

·         Mark Blundell

·         Alan van der Merwe

·         Derek Daly

·         Perry McCarthy

·         Christian Klien

·         Vic Elford

No, I don’t know who Vic Elford is either but then I’m a p’head with ‘p’ as in pxxx not petrol.

Readers of the website will also be submitting questions and there will be special prizes for readers who come up with the best questions.

Epicado believes that this is the first time a quiz has been hosted live on Twitter but then we also believe in Father Christmas. Only 91 more days!
